The Gilgamesh story
Numberless stories have been written. Only
one can be the first. The Gilgamesh epic
is that story. Storytellers told this universal
story five millennia ago. It is about the hero Gilgamesh and his quest for immortality,
how he finally found the magic herb that gives eternal life and how he lost it to a snake.
It was first written down on clay tablets 39
century's ago. And even today these tablets
are readable. It makes scratching in wet clay
by far the best way of putting down information. Better than HTML anyway. Here the clay
tablet wins.
Websites have other qualities. Internet is
a fan-bloody-tastic medium: fast, direct,
worldwide and sometimes with the power of
a good piece of art. It is our way of showing
what we have to say. It is our clay tablet.
